Nikah Down Under – Terms & Conditions

1. Purpose of the service

Nikah Down Under is a community initiative intended to facilitate respectful and halal introductions between individuals who are genuinely seeking marriage (nikah).

The service is intended solely for individuals who are sincere in their intention to seek a spouse and who agree to conduct themselves in accordance with Islamic values and principles.

2. Intentions and conduct

By using this service, you confirm that:

• Your intention in using the service is genuine and primarily for the purpose of marriage.
• You will communicate with others respectfully, modestly, and appropriately.
• You will not use the service for casual relationships, inappropriate communication, harassment, deception, or any other non-halal purpose.
• You will respect the dignity, privacy, and boundaries of everyone you interact with.
• You acknowledge that Allah is All-Seeing and All-Knowing and that you are accountable for your actions and intentions.

Any behaviour that is inappropriate, deceptive, harmful, or inconsistent with the purpose and Islamic values of the service is strictly prohibited.

3. Privacy and confidentiality

We take the privacy of participants seriously.

• Personal information submitted through the form will be treated as confidential.
• Information will only be collected and used for the purpose of facilitating potential marriage introductions and managing the service.
• Your identifying information will not be publicly displayed or shared with unrelated parties without your consent, except where required by law.
• Where appropriate, only relevant information may be shared with a potential match to facilitate an introduction.
• We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold; however, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

By submitting your information, you acknowledge and consent to its use for the purposes described above.

4. Role of Nikah Down Under

Nikah Down Under acts only as a facilitator between individuals seeking marriage.

• We assist in facilitating introductions but do not act as a marriage agency, counsellor, guardian (wali), or representative of either party.
• We do not independently verify every piece of information submitted by participants.
• Participants are responsible for providing truthful and accurate information.
• We do not guarantee that a match will be suitable, genuine, compatible, or successful.
• Once an introduction has been made, any subsequent communication, meeting, or relationship is at the participants’ own discretion and responsibility.

Participants are encouraged to involve their wali, family, or other trusted individuals where appropriate.

5. Liability and disclaimer

To the extent permitted by law:

• Nikah Down Under is not responsible for the actions, conduct, intentions, representations, or decisions of participants.
• We are not responsible for the outcome of any introduction or relationship resulting from the service.
• Any disputes, misunderstandings, misconduct, inappropriate interactions, or other issues arising between participants are the responsibility of the individuals involved.
• Participants agree to exercise their own judgement and take reasonable steps to protect their personal safety, privacy, and wellbeing.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any rights or obligations that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable Australian law.

6. Ethical use

Participants are expected to use the service honestly and responsibly. You must not:

• Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
• Impersonate another person.
• Harass, threaten, manipulate, exploit, or deceive another participant.
• Misuse another person’s personal information.
• Use information obtained through the service for purposes unrelated to seeking marriage.
• Attempt to use the platform for inappropriate, harmful, or non-halal purposes.

We reserve the right to remove or restrict access to any participant who breaches these Terms & Conditions or misuses the service.

7. Independence

Nikah Down Under is an independent, community-focused initiative. Unless expressly stated otherwise, it is:

• Not affiliated with or officially endorsed by any mosque, organisation, business, or other institution.
• Operated independently for community benefit.
• Not operated for commercial profit.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update or modify these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

Where appropriate, updated terms will be communicated through the service or the submission form. Continued use of the service after changes have been made constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms & Conditions.

9. Agreement

By submitting your details, you confirm that:

• You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions.
• You agree to comply with them.
• You understand the purpose and limitations of the Nikah Down Under service.
• You agree to use the service honestly, respectfully, and for the purpose of seeking marriage.
